Scooby Doo, The Guru Of Disguise

Posted in Uncategorized by admin on the July 16th, 2011

For those of us who grew up in the 1970′s Scooby Doo ranked with other super heroes like Batman, Superman and the Green Hornet. The loyal and loveable Great Dane might have been a coward but he always mustered up courage in the nick of time to save his pals from various villains.

In those days before cable and satellite Saturday mornings were devoted to children’s programming. Cartoons aired non-stop from early morning until late afternoon on every channel. We never missed the antics of Scooby Doo and his gang.

In each episode Scooby and his friends traveled in the Mystery Machine to a small town plagued by a ghost or demon. The team would interview residents and research public records for background information before setting out in search of the culprit. Their investigation typically exposed that a person rather than a supernatural being was actual perpetrator and the episode would end with a public unmasking of the villain.

The amateur sleuths often employed elaborate disguises in their efforts. What makes Scooby Doo the guru of disguise is the ability of this very large dog with a very pronounced speech impediment and a never-ending appetite for doggie snacks to go undercover and make the bust.
